Many a time, you come across people who REALLY believe that Sikhs deserve such jokes. Nothing deserves more contempt than this thought.
It is partially true that Sikhs have continued to work hard and play hard. But that is true of ANY person that looks at life practically and refuses to get bogged down by the worries of the material world.
Also, while Sikhs have made their mark as warriors; (being descendents of warriors, they are genetically inclined towards risk-taking.); they have also widely succeeded as businessmen, engineers, mechanics...... with a 2% population percentage, they have made a much more significant contribution to the Indian society than many others.
Portrayal of the Sikhs as 'morons' in movies, advertisements and other media, amounts to RACIAL PROFILING. Racial profiling can take different forms;some communities are labelled as terrorists, some are labelled as rowdy, and some are labelled as 'morons'...
AS A MATURED SOCIETY, we ought to get out this cycle; if we are to move together as INDIANS
